Detailed Itinerary
DAY 1: ARRIVAL IN LEH & ACCLIMATIZATION
- Upon arrival at Leh airport, you will be transferred to your hotel. This entire day is dedicated to acclimatization. Relax and enjoy the mountain air at your hotel. Rest is vital as you have moved from low altitude to over 11,000 ft. Overnight stay in Leh.
DAY 2: LEH LOCAL & SHAM VALLEY EXPLORATION
- After breakfast, drive towards Sham Valley. Visit the Sangam, the confluence of the Indus and Zanskar rivers. Experience the mystery of the Magnetic Hill and visit Gurudwara Pathar Sahib. In the afternoon, visit the Shanti Stupa for a stunning view of the sunset over Leh city. Overnight stay in Leh.
DAY 3: LEH TO NUBRA VALLEY VIA KHARDUNG LA
- Today, drive to the scenic Nubra Valley crossing Khardung La (17,582 ft). Visit the Diskit Monastery and see the majestic Maitreya Buddha. Spend the evening at Hunder Sand Dunes, where you can enjoy a unique camel safari on the double-humped Bactrian camels. Overnight stay in Nubra Valley.
DAY 4: NUBRA VALLEY TO PANGONG LAKE VIA SHYOK
- After breakfast, proceed to the world-renowned Pangong Tso Lake via the Shyok River route. This adventurous drive takes you through dramatic landscapes. Arrive at the lake, which is shared by India and China, and marvel at its color-changing waters. Overnight stay in deluxe camps at Pangong Lake.
DAY 5: PANGONG LAKE TO LEH VIA CHANG LA
- Enjoy a beautiful morning at the lake. After breakfast, drive back to Leh crossing the mighty Chang La pass (17,590 ft). On the way back, stop at the Thiksey Monastery, often called the "Mini Potala". Evening free for local shopping in Leh Market. Overnight stay in Leh.
DAY 6: DEPARTURE FROM LEH
